Prison Law
Applications for home detention curfew and release on temporary licence.
Home Detention Curfew (HDC) allows eligible prisoners to serve part of their sentence in the community subject to an electronic tag, while Release on Temporary Licence (ROTL) supports rehabilitation through temporary release for work, training, or family contact. Both involve detailed assessment and are frequently the subject of applications and representations. Specialist advice can help present the strongest case and challenge unfair refusals.
There are a range of complex representations which we routinely deploy in such cases, including:
Preparing and submitting HDC and ROTL applications with supporting evidence
Challenges to refusal where the decision is unfair or poorly reasoned
Submissions on risk reduction, behaviour, and suitability for release
Liaison with prison offender managers to support progression
